Ethical

Ethical does not mean unfashionable and by focussing primarily on the production of high quality garments from recycled materials, without compromise on style and aesthetics, we can achieve the best of both worlds.

  • It is estimated that more than 1 million tonnes of textiles are thrown away each year
  • Over 50% of the textiles we throw away are recyclable
  • Annually, the proportion of textiles reused or recycled in the UK is less than 25%, yet 80% of textile wastes are reusable
  • The quality of clothing we throw-away in the UK is unusually high in comparison to the rest of Europe
  • Textiles present particular problems in landfill sites as synthetic (man-made fibres) products do not decompose
  • Woollen garments do decompose but they produce methane that contributes to global warming
  • Less than 5% of the textiles and clothes that are put into recycling bins end up as waste
